Food Pantry Ministry

The Pleasant Valley Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) ministry that was organized in 2009. It is registered with 211.org. The Food Pantry is run fully by volunteers and distributes weekly to Tazewell and Woodford County residents. On average, it serves 191 families each month.

If you have a food insecurity and would like to receive assistance, please be aware of the below pick-up guidelines.

  • Food is distributed at the Church (301 East Bittersweet Road) on Thursday evenings from 4 – 5pm. Updates about the distributions will be made on the Church Facebook page – @PleasantValleyMissionaryBaptist.

  • Food distribution will end promptly at 5pm.

  • No registering ahead of time is required and no income minimum/maximum disclosure is required.

  • One family per household only.

  • Pre-bagged foods will be distributed curb side in the Church parking lot.  Stay in your vehicle. Food Pantry volunteers will place the food in your vehicle.

  • Enter the Church parking lot from Blossom Terrace (backside of the building). You will not be allowed to enter the parking lot from Bittersweet Road.

  • Exit the Church parking lot onto East Bittersweet Road.

Since foods are pre-bagged you will not have a choice in what you receive.  If you receive any food you do not want please share them with a neighbor.

We do not deliver food.

If you have questions about the food distribution contact us through Facebook messaging, Church@PleasantValleyMB.org or (309) 397-1200 (please call Monday-Friday between 9am-4pm).
